Ok, so the most important vote you have to consider this week is for the first Brum Book Club read – make it count!
Suggested titles for May, following our Birmingham theme, are:
Beauty by Raphael Selbourne suggested by @ellielovell
What Was Lost by Catherine O’Flynn suggested by @helgahenry
Girl in a Blue Dress by Gaynor Arnold suggested by @parboo
The Rotters’ Club by Jonathan Coe suggested by @robweaverregen
To vote, tweet either Beauty, Lost, Dress or Rotters to @brumbookclub by midnight tonight!
PS. From what I can see, Paper Lanterns by Christine Coleman suggested by @paul4july won’t be available until the 15 May although there is a launch this Thursday at Ikon if you’re interested! I’ll put it on the wish list for next month.

Hi all @ Brum Book Club
I thought you might be interested to know that a bookclub member from Tennessee was googling for sites that might suggest books that would be good for book reading groups and she came across this site – From here, she clicked on my book, Paper Lanterns, and was drawn to it at once. She then managed to find my website (not so easy, since the ‘other’ C. C. takes up half the first page with her own card-making business) and then she contacted me to ask how she could get copies for their group.
I want to thank you all for this, as it resulted in an order for ten copies, which I sent a few days ago. They’ll be reading it later this month.
How amazing is that!
I saw that you’d got the publication date as 15th May, but actually the official date was 14th March. If any of you are interested, copies are available from the Ikon shop, and from amazon.co.uk (they say it’s temporarily out of stock, but if you click on ’2 new sellers’ you’ll
get through to the next page: Novel Press, the publisher, is the seller. It works out at exactly the same reduced price as on my site (£5.99 inc. p&p) – I can do even better deals for local bulk orders! (I hope you don’t mind the hard sell, but I’m still v excited to find out that a woman in Tennessee found out about Paper Lanterns through this bookgroup in Brum!
Cheers
Christine
PS Cool site!
